Super Mat.... Here to save the world (or at least Brighton), taken just as he's flying off....by Apollo2077Comment: Critique Club
This had the potential to be a super entry into the flight challenge but your choice of how to crop it created a very weak entry. The photo comes across as being very boring in the state that it is right now. You placed your subject in the center of the frame so that you could capture the pier as well as the buildings. Had you cropped it differently it would have improved the entire image. There is to much nothing at the top and the pier as pretty as it is doesn't do much for the shot. Cropping out some of the blue sky and most of the pier would greatly improve on this.
Also pay more attention to the little details. You can easily crop out your shadow from the corner.
As for meeting the challenge, you did do that nicely with a little touch of humor. I enjoyed the refreshing comedy of this photo. Nice attempt at the challenge. |

I simply love this shot. During voting I smiled at the sight of the paper airplane. I had considered it but never thought of using sheet music to do it with. Your choice of music for the challenge represents this challenge even more than the plane.
Your focus is just to soft on everything with nothing really in focus and had you had the focus a little cleaner it would improve this greatly. The background is also very distracting in this shot. I a not sure what it is but the lines in it pull your attention away.
Very creative and clever attempt at this challenge. |

This one is very hard to know what to say about it. It has its good as well as bad points. Your focus is really good and the detail is fantastic as you can see the textures.
Problems with the photo are simple, its over exposed, more so on the top center, that bright spot is just very distracting there.
As for meeting the challenge I understand where you were coming from with this photo but at the same time it is very weak and doesn't really represent flight in this photo. Remember not everyone will think outside of the actually discription of the challenge.
Nice effort would love to see this redone with some spot editing done to it to correct the overexposure area. |

Bats and Vampires!by jetstarComment: Wow this really works as a nightmare. Good capture, seems a little soft but could be movement of the bat too. Worth a 7 cause it is a nightmare |

Very pretty color here. It definately does meet the challenge. The problem I see with it is just to much negative space. You needed to crop in closer on the plane and also use the rule of thirds it will help greatly. Try to put your subject in the outter 1/3 instead of dead center. It will increase interest. |

LOL you guys should have mooned the camera then I would have had my entry for the exposed challenge, even though it would have been a bit early... |

Very interesting macro. It has a lot of potential. The compositing is good the problem is the lighting was just to poor and ruined a beautiful photo. I'd love to see this done over with better lighting.
It meets the challenge, just watch out for shadows. Good attempt. |
