This is really a cheerful shot. The colors really make this a joy to look at. I may have used just a little smaller aperture but to increase DOF just a bit but it works either way IMO. Good luck with the challenge!

This is really nice. I like the way you have softened the focus for all other parts of the photo other than the pencil point. Used the aperture to achieve this I'm guessing. Nice effect. Good luck with the challenge!

Nice sharp point. Nice clarity and sharpness. Might have been a little crisper toward the top if a smaller aperture was used but really small apertures are sometimes hard to come by on digital cameras. You may have used a small aperture but the DOF is so shallow because of being so close to subject too.(?) I have tried this type of show in the past without much success so I am impressed. Good luck with the challenge!
