Thanks :-)

It is a hallway, open to the left - I estimate there is about 300 feet to the wall at the end. See the shadows on the floor. Not visible here is that there are about 4 pillars on the left, between each arch.

From the forbidden city in Beijing, it should apparently hold 9999 "rooms", a room being defined by four corner "pillars".

If you look at //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=382278 all the way to the right in the picture, you can see a similar hallway, from the side (it is not the same, but there are several of them).

It is actually a quite tall building, and he was just standing there watching me and all the other "ants", I guess. Zoom makes it looks like it is 5th floor or so, but ty 30th floor or so. In most of Asia, China mainly I guess, bamboo is used for ... what is that called in English, what you put around buildings when you work on the exterior. Should work really well they say ...

I don't know if I could have adjusted it - I'll give it a try, but the difference between the shade and the hazy, yet sunny outside ... have just tried it with my limited capabilities and tools, can add shadows to make the colour more full, but then all the people become silhouettes in darkness. I'll send the original if someone would like to have a go at it?

One of them had actually spotted me earlier on. I was waiting for the area to clear, so I could get a clean shot (see elsewhere in this series). This is a long hallway open to one side (the left seen from this end), I am even standing half way, where the rest of the arches are in line. So it is not a paiting, each arch is about 50 feet or so behind the preceding. See //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=382275 and the comments I made there ...

A bit hazy, so clos-ups are OK, but as you saw in another photo in the same series, objects need not be far away before the start getting greyed out by the haze (+35 deg celcius and somewhat humid).

Thank you for the comments on all the pictures :-)

And btw, note that it isn't raining, but many Chinese (mainly women) want to be more white in the skin, so they try not to get tanned (opposed to many of us caucasians!). Also, I guess it helps prevent them from sweating in the heat ...

Yeah, nice shot of on of the Ahbra taxi boats. Should cost half a dirham to cross, but when they see tourist/foreigners, they try to sell you a private tour ... often much faster way to cross the creek in Dubai than to get stuck in traffic, taking a cab ...

Thank you, Germaine.

It said it was an art gallery of some kind, but I did not go inside. It is not so far away, so maybe I should go in and have a closer look?
