AZTECby BitzComment: Excellent shot! I love the colors of both the subject and the background. With the lighting you've chosen, you've captured very good detail in the plate. Could study this all day. Good work. |

Night of the 4thby bgmorrisComment: Great viewpoint to get these three monuments in one picture! However, I wish you would have zoomed out a bit and used a portrait format to include all of the Wash monument and get the fireworks in the shot too. Although the picture has excessive noise, I like way you've captured the smoke from the fireworks and I like the trees in the forground. I do wish you would have cropped out the street lamps at the very bottom of the picture. |

Late Night Carriage Ride Downtownby KevinRiggsComment: I think this picture would have been more effective if it weren't taken straight away head on. I would have liked to have seen more of the carriage which would have provided more interest and would have helped tell a story. The horse has the B&W equivalent of red-eye and the woman has the horsewhip extending out of her head. I think there are many ways of having had this subject show a "night out on the town," but you chose to make more of a snapshot of it. |

Urban Boating Party, 07/04/03by iraeComment: I like the composition very much, as well as, the texture and tones in the water. Very interesting the way the boats are lining up and I especially like the 4 boats in the lower right. They help to give a nice feeling of distance to the shot. I'm wondering why you didn't enter this image in color. I think it would have looked better. |

Colors Of The Nightby origoComment: Very nice colors and I think the compostion is excellent....very interesting to look at. There is alot of noise, but hard to prevent in these night shots, and I'm wondering if you used a star filter...if you did, I think it's overdone here with all those lights. Good job on the night sky, as well, which is almost black. |

“Sir, I think you’ve had enough.”by tomlewis1980Comment: Effective symbolism and very well executed. I like the way the glass glistens against the otherwise low key image and the way you've maintained detail in the tabletop. Even the pitch black space in the upper left where the table ends is veyr effective, suggesting patron on floor? One helluva an image! Good job. |

A Monumental Night in Washington D.C.by daverx7Comment: Wow!!! Outstanding capture! This picture is very well balanced, even with the empty space in the upper left. I love the way the two small boats are caught by the reflections in the water from their respective light sources. Also, that's one hell of a fireball fireworks! Almost seems to be a UFO out of Strange Encounters of the Third Kind. Are you sure that it's not really abducting earthlings? :) Excellent job! |

Boats on July 4thby InnaNComment: Very nice composition...the only thing to improve there is the slightly cut off skyscrapper on the left. Also, I would liked to have seen this picture darker with some more contrast to bring out the lights in the water and buildings. I think this would also improve color saturation as well. Good job on compostion! |

Resaurantby rooComment: I think you need a more interesting and compelling subject for your photo. This just doesn't say anything to me. |
