Harbor Sunriseby Bear_MusicComment: This was originally one of my personal top three picks for this challenge because of the great shadow tones (Uh, I mean detail) in the boats. The framing is exceptional and technical quality outstanding. This is 10 times better than my own higher scoring entry. Message edited by author 2006-03-29 11:23:50. |

playin'by thegrandwazooComment: For great tones (detail) in the shadows, composition and technical quality I thought this was one of the best images in this challenge. Great job. I scored it 9. Message edited by author 2006-03-29 11:14:34. |

St. Peter's Cathedralby ShutterPugComment: Congrats on the "top 30" finish. ;) You got above a 6.1 and that is a really good score. I'd take that score on an image any day. You are on a tear with high scoring images lately.
This is one of the few higher placing pictures I scored lower than the group average. I gave it a 6. It is a nice subject with dramatic lighting and from a good perspective. I did not score it higher because the partial desaturation method used in post processing made the image look underexposed and flat to me, particularly on the near tower. As a result the fine detail in the shadows was not drawn out as well to my eye and that is what I like best about low-key images. |

A Face In The Bitter Coldby TDCollinsComment: This is one of my top three choices for a ribbon in this challenge. Simply put, it is a perfect color, low-key image. The detail in the shadows is outstanding and the technical quality of the image superb. I'm disappointed to see it finish so low. It's subtlety went unrecognized by voters. |

Beast Withinby jsolsonaComment: One of my top three choices for a ribbon in this challenge. The dark tonality is exceptional and the expression capture is perfect for low-key. |

YKKby genghisComment: One of my top three choices for a ribbon winner in this challenge. Sorry you did not get it this time but you will win a ribbon soon. You are a fantastic photographer! Tones are the hallmark of a great low-key image and this image certainly has that. It is a very unique and fabulous composition. |
