Lonerby seabrookComment: This image would be much. much better if the seagul were in focus. Shallow focus would be even better. |

Skippyby ashleyXcoreComment: This image could be improved considerably if the dog were placed in the sun and that if you took a closeup of the dog in sharp focus but with a shallow depth of field to achieve a nice soft focus on the background trees. |

Alone In Man's Worldby geminiwbComment: This image had great potential, but the overall poor quality of the image completely overwhelms the fact you framed your subject well and that you got a great pose. Technical image quality is the first step toward a great picture. |

Lego Lonelinessby MEGAjigComment: With the addition of a couple of lights this would have been much, much better. |

My first time allone.....by litboltiComment: Sepia is a good choice here, but the image correction resulting blotchy patches of focused and unfocused areas did not work for me. In my opinion it would have been better if that had not been done. |

in the fieldby teepot9Comment: This image could be composed much better. It looks like the tall tree in the center of the frame is you main subject. Maybe you could have walked intio the field or zoomed in on that tree so that it and the fog were the only things in the frame and that the tree was placed according to the rule of thirds and and is nearly as tall a the frame. I think that would have worked well. Low contrast and soft focus like you have would work well then. |

lonely emailby smoresComment: Unfortunately, this looks more like a poorly focused snapshot than anything. If you took an extreme closeup of your subject in sharp focus with a low f/number to decrease your depth of field you could turn this into a good image. Strong side lighting would help to. |

The Early Birdby jamijcComment: This image uses the rule of thirds well, but bad focus really hurts it. Otherwise it would be an excellant image. |

lonely rain dropsby robertosauerComment: The idea is good, but the image fails to measure up to it. You need to be closer to the raindrops and they should be absolutely clear. A softer focus on the background would make the water drops stand out even more and give a better sense of a rainy day. Message edited by author 2003-10-29 11:51:32. |
