The concept of this image is great for this challenge. The technical quality of the image is not so good. Oversharpening is visible as a halo on the border between the black dirt and light colored background. It is also planly visible on the uncut bulbs as well. It gives the image a digitalization quality that is distracting to the excellent concept.

The choice of B&W is good for this image and the framing is fine. Objects with fine detail like this one easily suffer from oversharpening. This one is a little oversharpened and the fine detail is affected.

Soft focus definitely hurts this image. Something like this should be in razor sharp focus. Though it fits the challenge topic creativity is also an issue here. For some reason circuit boards and hard drives are common photo subjects at DPC and are overdone, sorta like the desaturation to one color technique is also overworked.
