under_the_bridge.jpgby meyersComment: This is a beautiful serene picture! maybe you could mess with the colors to make them more vibrant, but I think you did a great job with the composition and smooth flowing water, nice work |

tahoe.jpgby meyersComment: wow, this is a nice photo that you could really perk it up using bear_music's PS tip on gradients for the sky and water. Also, maybe you could bring out the warm colors that are above and below the mountains, great vertical landscape shot! |

tahoe_sunset.jpgby meyersComment: this is a cool shot with the snow and the sun, great sunburst too. I would straighten out the horizon and after that maybe cropping a bit of the bottom a little, not too much though, also, maybe try messing with all of the settings in PS like contrast and hue/saturation, but this photo has great composition and a lovely subject, I love how you framed the sun, setting over the beautiful mountains, with the trees and snowy foreground, nice work |

The Off-Track Writerby youngnovaComment: hmm.. nice shot, I wasn't able to vote on this challenge (just got a membership), but I really like your idea, the literal interpretation of the writer's mind as his environment is awesome, the only thing to me is that it seems like the focus is on the typewriter whereas I would like his face to be sharper, great composition and colors, etc, nice work. I would have given it an 8 or 9. (I like how the background is separated from the writer, it gives that sense of dreamingness or thinking, that the background is his mind...) |

I agree, this is exactly what I was going to say, and I kind of like the jet lines in the sky... |

B&W-Owlby mortyComment: wow, nice photo, you're probably noticing that I have a thing for a little looser crop... lol... (maybe a little more room above the left side ear) everything else looks perfect |

THISTLE.jpgby mortyComment: I also see the focus being too low, it makes the blurred bloom in back fight for attention with the top right side of the bloom in front. The colors are great and the crop is nice, I would like a little more space to both sides (right/left) of the photo, more on right side than left, and depending how that looked and what else was there, maybe a tad more to the bottom. awesome pic though, nice job |

blackbirdby mortyComment: wow, the thick black frame is definitely a nice touch. I also like the DOF and the composition. only thing, just maybe a tad more space below the feet if you could have and a touch more detail on the bird. maybe you could mess a little with curves, or try USM (start with 25/60/0, and go from there, works wonders with landscapes, might work for this) nice photo, now I'm off to see the rest! |
