San Francisco conventby quindeComment: I bet there's a big wide aperture involved in this. I'm not the world's greatest fan of sharpness for sharpness' sake, but what isn't dark here is fuzzy. The nearest wing is in focus, I note. I think it was a very difficult shot to pull off, so kudos for this much :) |

Prayerby garrfosterComment: Nicely put together, but the praying person in the foreground comes over as idiot-obvious to me, sorry. |

Roadside Faithby shelley1017Comment: I think this is looking for connotations of Karma Bum road philosophy. The on-its-own Spartan profile might have benefitted from more sky and less foreground. It comes over as 'almost but not quite' to me. I like its attitude :) |

Going to church one sunny dayby palmfrodurComment: It's a lovely shot, with the saturated bright colours and the striking lines of the cladding on the church. I feel that the boldness of colour detracts from the idea of 'holiness' though - belongs with children's toys rather than timeless veneration. |

Enter The Lightby WaysOfSeeingComment: You'd have to say it was something of a cliché, but it's painstakingly well put together, by the architect, the stonemasons and the photogapher. Nice shot. |

Salt Lake Templeby dwterryComment: My rule of thumb for arcitectural shots like this, where perspective throws the lines out of parallel, is to make the leading edge vertical. This looks skew-wiff. Straightforward interpretation nicely composed together with the garden elements. Looks on the bright side of holiness :) |

The Holiest of Placesby elisabComment: It's a nice literary set up to picture the symbols of belief in the catechism, on which belief its holiness is dependent. I think the problem is that anything that departs from the 'obvious' interpretation of the challenge has to stand out as exceptional. This isn't better than good. Come to think of it, I'll vote you an extra point for the well composed simplicity. |

First Bee of Springby raishComment: Thanks for the critique club comment (and thanks for all the others too). This was a serendipitous shot that fitted in for the challenge, which allows me to get all this priceless feedback. I appreciate it - the learning curve starts here. |
