Winterby artvetComment: I had to take a second, third, and even fourth long look at this. The initial centering of the subject made me balk at first, but the detail of the snow weighing down the branches, scrubs trying to poke through the blanket on the ground, and the fence in the background kept bringing me back. The detail of the branches isolates the tree nicely against the soft sky. |

ennuiby nixterComment: Faces and memories blurring as time uncompromisingly moves on.. The distance between the two exaggerated by the DOF; her own face is clear for now, though even her wedding ring is losing its history.
I love pictures that tell compelling stories. It'll be a crime if this doesn't land in the top 25%. |

Rusting Awayby Yo_SpiffComment: Sitting at the edge of the yard, watching the sun set and reflecting on their own last hours. Great choice for perspective and saturation. That you, NikonJeb? |

Tigerby meyersComment: I stand my Tiger's goopy eyes--it's a sign of age (I think he's like 16), wisdom, and natural beauty. And the goop has texture too! Look at that contrast between smooth goop and detailed fur.
Besides, this cat wouldn't let me get close enough to him to de-goop him. |

STACEY2.JPGby meyersComment: I can't take credit for this one though; I was about 2 months old at the time. Apparently this cat would attack *anyone* who came near me, parents included. My mom didn't mind, but my dad wasn't much of a cat person in the first place. |

Melt into Darknessby colorcarnivalComment: Yow, you got jobbed on this one. Yeah, the picture isn't bright and sunny and cheerful, but Halloween isn't supposed to be any of those! That burning eye, and the face blurred behind the wrath of some dark power.. this screams Halloween! |
