water, water, everywhere, why must we pay to drink? by tateComment: Congratulations on the ribbon! Very cool image and I love the message. It is rediculous and irresponsible how much money we Americans spend on bottled water (especially since much of it is NOT of better quality than what we lucky people have coming out of our taps). Many times those plastic bottles are not recycled either - filling up the landfills! AND how much of our limited petroleum resources are we using to make those stupid plastic bottles anyway?! OK - that was my environmentalist rant - you'll have to forgive me...that's my job. : ) |

A Brief Moment of Silenceby jjbeguinComment: Such a fantastically emotive shot. This split second in time seems to speak volumes about these two people and their love for one another. Such a tenderness, quiet shared joy, a speck of majesty, and wee bit of sadness all wrapped up in one moment. Love the deep dark tones and the contrast. Exquisite photograph. I'll go ahead and join the masses and make this a favorite - if I could do it twice, I would. Message edited by author 2007-06-10 20:00:50. |

Linksby msdoubletroubleComment: Love the very shallow DOF and the rusty tones. Possibly not exciting enough composition to merit a tremendous score (not a bad score though!). As an aside: Sister you are really good at this shallow DOF thing - I'd love to see ya shoot some vibrantly colored subjects (bugs, spiders, flowers) in this style. Yeah - maybe they are generic DPC subjects etc. but I just think you are good at the shallow DOF technique and could potentially get some excellent scores. |

Blue Moonby msdoubletroubleComment: Nice shot and I like the blue. Good crop and perfectly meets the challenge of course! Part of the moon is a bit washed out but I'm not sure how you would avoid that entirely. Gotta love the craters - so cool! I didn't vote in this challenge. |

STOP religionby msdoubletroubleComment: I see your sense of humor shining through on this shot somehow. I really like the treatment on the sky. A little tall and skinny perhaps - it seems like square(ish) crops open bigger and capture the higher votes (I'm sure a square crop would not work for a tower shot like this - just more of a general comment). So I guess we know how Zeuss feels about religion! : ) Edit - forgot to mention that I did not vote on this image. Message edited by author 2007-06-10 15:18:36. |
