Looking for a definition of a silhouette I found this on Wikipedia: A silhouette is the image of a person, animal, object or scene represented as a solid shape of a single color, usually black, its edges matching the outline of the subject. The interior of a silhouette is featureless, and the whole is typically presented on a light background, usually white, or none at all.. Maybe there are more definitions, but that does not make her comment ridiculous. I think she is entitled to say what she thinks, that's the whole purpose of giving comments.
Congrats with a beautiful image of these impressive elks and with the Yellow! |
Your definition and Neat's definition are much more narrow than intended by the original challenge description. A natural looking silhouette is not often pure black, unless doctored in Photoshop to the nth degree. In the case of my image, most voters felt it met the challenge. I do see the low votes, which evidently represent those who wanted to see an artificial silhouette. |

I especially like the depth of field with its receding planes. I'm confused about the word "vlei." Googling it offers a meaning of a shallow, minor and often transient pond or marsh. Maybe I'm missing something. |
An homage to the surreal trees of Namibia, Dead Vlei. |

All I can see is a clean bird with lovely fresh, clean water.
Sadly, I should have gone with my feelings, instead of the "doubt" bit.
Nice enough shot. Totally DNMC. :-( |
You don't know scavengers very well. They feast on dead animals. Not only are they filthy, they contaminate the bird bath. It's too bad people are not more educated and open-minded about challenge topics. |

The challenge topic was Curiosity. If you can't handle it, then that's too bad. Your comment was not constructive. You didn't enter this challenge. You haven't entered a challenge for six months. |
