What did I do to you?by takethatComment: Very nice bit of Fauna Photojournalism. The WA lens and angled composition work for me. Not so wild about the blown out sky in the bg, but that's the cost of a proper foregound exposure. Nice work. |

Pelicansby jjbeguinComment: Gotta grade this a little higher on second viewing. Great clarity and colors. |

Peacockby rickhd13Comment: A very impressive spread. I'd have liked to see the feet, I think. Alternately, moving the body off center and seing the edge of his fan on one side would make for a less static composition. Nice work, regardless. |

Wanna play woodpecker?by AnastasiaComment: The symmetry of the two birds is great. I'm a bit torn over the tree, though. Cropping it out would leave their heads too close to the edge of the frame, but it's also distracting. Too bad you couldn't get the shot from an angle which excluded the tree. Otherwise, fantastic. Getting a good exposure on those white feathers is no easy trick. |

Major Faunaby MorganComment: I guess you were trying to exclude bits of the surroundings, but I find the missing trunk and leg distracting. Would much rather have seen this in portrait orientation. Otherwise, excellent focus and exposure (a little blowout on the tusk is not a showstopper). The elephant has great texture. Open eye might have been better. Very good, overall. |

Who's watching the rear?by vtruanComment: What a great composition. You were lucky to get this! I wish the hindmost bird were in better focus, but with a long lens like that the DOF must have been pretty narrow. The BG is a bit wierd. It would be nice if there were something in the middle distance to keep them from looking like they're posed against a backdrop. Very nice work, overall. |

Backyard Visitorby AnachroniteComment: Great colors, and nice selective DOF. The lighting is a little patchy (darker on his face and at LRC), but not a big issue. Very fine work. |

Goose Chaseby QuadrajetComment: Nice action pan! The head is tack sharp. A little faster shutter might have been better for freezing the wings and legs a bit more, but this works, too. |
