Maybe nicer without the subject right on the midline like that. The big white empty at bottom doesn't do much for the composition, IMO.

Good, solid tech. here. Dunno if the negative treatment adds anything that high contrast B/W wouldn't have. Not boring, anyway. Nice work.

It'd have been nice to see the 'face' of the leaves rather than the side-on perspective. And get a manicure. Nice macro.

Nice mic. I think you could have made a vertical composition and still had the subject off-center. Not sure what the L side is adding here.

Nicely composed, if a bit static. If it were mine, I'd have gotten in a little closer and lower down. The lighting falls apart a bit, too. The white side of the switch plate is distinctly gray.

Pretty good control of the light here. It would be more interesting, IMO, from a less usual POV, and maybe let depth of field come into play. A good fit for the challenge.

A better white balance would capture the ambience of the lighting without the yellow wash over the image. Looks inviting, otherwise.

I'm torn between liking the shadow and not. If the light were a little softer - enought to define the shadows without the specular highlights on the branch - it might play better. Also, the purple background color is a choice I wouldn't have made.

Lighting is so important for a still life like this, and the hard, direct quality of the light really hurts this image, IMO. The composition could be more engaging, too, if you chose an angle different from the side-on POV you've got here. I don't mean to sound harsh, but the effect is reminiscent of 'I put this shell in my scanner'. Photography can so easily devolve into 'holding a photocopier up to the world'. It's important to approach and treat your subject from a point of view that is somehow unique to your vision. Hang in there!
