It is gooey, it is a jelly fungi, it is about the size of my little fingernail, and when it hasn't been wet for more than a few hours it shrivels up to the size of a pin prick, it was raining when this photo was taken.

Giant Mushroom

I love this photo myself - I agree with what you are saying all the way! We were driving and I saw this mushroom on the side of the road so we stopped, but after 1 photo my batteries ran out and I didn't have any spare charged ones, when we went back 4 days later it was all dead and brown and the top had collapsed! I wish I had more battry power that day and I have learnt to always carry spare fully charged batteries!!!!!
