Ignitionby indy79Comment: Border is simple and elegant. I like the fact that a tiny match produced such a large flame - it gives the flame a sense of power, and the flowing shape of the flame has a sense of grace. |

why i love my lens hoodby SkipComment: Once at the Diamond a foul ball hit me on the head. I wasn't sitting anywhere close, either... and it bounced OFF my head and rolled away. (Yay, I can tell this story to someone online who actually knows where I mean! Yay Richmond!) So yeah... this might be a very odd picture to favorite but I am doing that because it reminds me of silly things like being bonked on the head. :-) |

Seamus and the singing bowlby MacDonaldComment: Wow... such a wonderful expression on the cat's face. It's just beautiful. Great colors as well. I love the sense of mystery that the blending into the black background creates. I think the soft focus works well because it adds to the mysterious feel, and the hairs are distinct enough - so it does not feel like anything is lacking in focus that needs to be focused, if that makes sense. I would maybe like it if cropped tighter on the left and bottom, but nevertheless it is a great image and it is going in my favorites! Message edited by author 2006-08-13 01:27:19. |

Grunge Saleby BeagleboyComment: The first thing that strikes me is that there is a large difference in texture between the left and right sides of the image, and that's what makes this picture so neat of course, except it changes too abruptly for my eyes. Other than that I love the colors, the contrast between plastic and peeling paint, and the overall feel/mood. Definitely very nice work. |

Messenger mouseby Dan_CottleComment: Doesn't say transportation to me except for the title. BUT I must say, this is a delightful image. I looked over all the thumbnails and this was the first one that jumped out at me. I have had two sweet white mice as pets and hold a special place in my heart for them. I love... LOVE what you have done with the lighting. Very unique, and I think it captures the elegance that is hidden within this small creature. I like how so much of the photo is dark yet you still captured very fine details. I don't think I'm voting in this challenge, and I don't know what I would vote your image, but I do want to thank you for such a wonderful shot. |

the lonerby ShutterPugComment: I just LOVE the squiggley highlights. They lend the picture an abstract quality but it's definitely not abstract, and I love that type of blending. I think it is amazing how the duck in the top right is so close to the white highlight, and yet so much detail still is present in the shadows of the duck. The color of the water is amazing - such a calming shade of blue, which is fitting to the overall image. I also love the detail in the ripples of the water.
If I had to change something, I would change the middle highlight to be white instead of yellow. But actually, I don't know if that would help the image any. I think if you'd submitted this to the recent Zen challenge, it might have, but otherwise the yellow is definitely not a flaw.
(Since the squiggley highlights remind me of one of my images, could you return the comment for that one? The only editing was levels and desat. here :-) ) |

Gamesby cryingdragonComment: I think this is a good shot - you definitely achieved the white popping off the background as you desired. I agree that it could be improved upon but of course most photos can :-) |
