Sad, and the title makes it even sadder. I wish maybe the background were plainer, as it would seem more real to me, like it were at a garage sale instead of seeming more like a still life. But, that would have detracted from the soft beauty of the image. All in all a great job and I do hope that this is not a personal story for you or your loved ones.

If the image had been in focus, with a levels or curves adjustment to help contrast and color balance, this would be a good image. I like the lines in the background and the way the greens and the browns interact.

Maybe a TINY bit too dark - I just wish I could see the knife a little better. However, I think the contrast overall is great! I also love the perspective, and the differing sizes of the peppers. Very creative and fun looking image!
