I tried to look up the original but the search engine wasn't giving me any results. I think this is a good photo! I just wish I could appreciate it in the context of the original. This may not be a "DPC friendly" image... no stunning sunsets, rich saturated colors... but it is a perfect entry for this challenge and I like it. It would be interesting to see it cropped much tighter, to leave out the adult to the left... would have weird, chopped-off hands holding the infant but it might be interesting anyway, or maybe not.

I think I understand the juxtaposition of elements.. contrasting death versus life... but visually it just doesn't work for me. A decent image nonetheless.

I hope people are familiar with the concept of a ferryman in the afterlife. I could imagine this image would seem not to fit the challenge to some but i think that it does, and I like the way you have portrayed it.
