Barren Wasteland

Wow!! At first I didn't really think this met the challenge at all. Then I started thinking about the interesting green all over that one tree and how it contrasted with the others.... And then I realized that everything in the background and foreground has - not biologically maybe, but visually - died, while the one tree that is the subject is alive, vibrant, young. It used to live in a forest that was young, but it got uprooted and transplanted to this very old "barren wasteland". That definitely meets the challenge for me. Well done.

Very interesting title - it made me click on the thumbnail to see what this would be. I like the image! Although I would have perfered a different color of shirt underneath (it reminds me of denim color), I love the composition and lighting and the tones, and the concept very much.

Hmmm. I'm from Richmond, Virginia so I find this an intriguing concept. I like the execution as well, with a nice muted-color background to offset the interestingly tattered flag.

Horsepower

We have one of those in our front yard. It was my second challenge entry. I think if we'd tried to attach it to a car, it would have fallen apart! I always love those as photo subjects, and I like what you did with it here. The colors are good and I like the blue in the sky. Would have maybe prefered a different location; I have the feeling that it would have been very difficult if not impossible to get this looking like it wasn't tilted. Overall though a nice shot. I think the strongest point is how "slick" and new the car looks - it's a good match for the rake.
