Sailing towards calmer waterby KelliComment: Trading POst -
I will be up front and say that most of the figurine type shots just didnt grab my attention in this challenge. I think your shot was too heavily processed. The figurine detail gets lost in the funky tones and textures of the colors in the background. It has a messy feel to it and no real focus. Just distracting in general. I scored a 5 because you did at least try to be creative with your shot where other figurine shots scored less because they were just flat out boring with no creativity. Here you tried but the results were not that good in my eyes. (But I wear glasses so take this opinion for what its worth.) |

Tiedby diannaraeComment: I wont speak those dreaded letters that I am sure you are reading alot of. I will comemnt as if this shot was in another challenge. I think the main issue with this shot is the blur up front. You have some cool patterns in the background that the blur works well on but the rope really needs to be sharp and in focus to have a good separation. The interest level overall is pretty low as well. The color stands out strong but a picture of hanging rope just isnt an attention grabber. Hope you arent too disheartened being in the wrong challenge - check closer next time and good luck in the future. |

Don't Worry, Bee Happyby MegaweaponComment: Boy - you got me stumped on this one. Not even sure how it would fit the other stationary challenge let alone this one. Maybe the flower challenge? Probably getting alot of the dreaded DNMC comments though - so here is something different maybe. You have a good capture of the bee. Nice colors in the flowers but you really lose most of the impact with the size of the picture. There is a tutorial on this site abouut saving your pictures for the web to maximize the 150k within the 640pixel limit. At a larger size more detail and impact would have been had with this shot (even more so in the right challenge). If you are new here welcome to DPC and dont let the comments get you down. There is always the next challenge and the past ones get forgotten quick. If you have been around for a while then I ask "What are you thinking man?" Seriously, good luck on future challenges and find that tutorial. |

Cat on Glassby MelethiaComment: Trading Post -
I stil lstand by my original comments but figured I would let you know that I scored this a 7 in challenge. The perspective and humor bumped it past the technical issues that the shot may have had. Me personally I like a good cat shot. |

Apolloby aimeethetooComment: Great idea and execution! The colors are just so alive and vibrant. INTENSE! This should ribbon right underneath a certain other shot. Great job Woman!!! Dont let anyone else tell you otherwise - and if they do and you find out who it is I will take care of them for you. |

Aloneby zhekaComment: Nice colors and shadows but for some reason I seem to want the top of the pencil to be in focus instead of near the bottom. |

blank paperby shaundpComment: I wonder what this would have looked like with just the rolled paper on a solid background. The flat sheets edges are a bit distracting as they are not evenly spaced and seem to throw off the balance a bit. |

Envelopesby FromacComment: Overall good macro type shot - just wish it was a tad sharper and brighter. It is just a tad bit flat IMO. |
