Would be great with more light on the shoes and maybe a third less background. I know, one does not go hiking with a reflector or a flashlight, but maybe another angle...

The foreground is not interesting, IMO. I would have used a tele, in order to have only the right part of the bulding under the sky. The simpler, the better...

A slightly larger DOF, so that both shoes of the pair could be sharp, would have made it perfect, IMHO
