I think the main problem is that nothing is gained by flipping it. It doesn't give the impression, for example, of defying gravity, it doesn't really add any unique perspective. It's just... flipped... simply for the purpose of flipping. :) |
But that wasn't the description of the challenge and this only proves that DPC'ers expect certain images with each challenge. |

I think as you say there were a reasonably large amount of entries that were just a flip rotation without the flip / rotation adding anything to the image, I think the important thing here was had you added an element of upside down in this image (a glass full of fluid that was pointing to the top of the image as one other person did) it would have better met the challenge.
Sorry if my comment sounded harsh it wasn't meant as a rant and I do think this is technically a very good SP. |
I don't think it was harsh at all, I'm not mad about this image. Like I stated it was only an entry for the extra point that's it. I knew it wasn't a good idea but like I said I had nothing. Actually the challenges over the last 3 weeks have been so boring it's like I don't even want to enter them.
Money for example, didn't we just have a Affluence challenge, isn't that the same thing as money?
Then we just had a Suburbia challenge and now we have Street Photography III? WTF, it's the same thing with a different name.
Just getting to me a little bit I guess. |

Are you serious? Did you read the challenge name before you started voting? |

I guess the downside to that was this:

No where did anything say you couldn't just flip a picture upside down. I'm sure out of 169 entries I could find about 60%+ that were just flipped upside down.. After all that was the the challenge ya know. |
