Canada Lynx on Alertby scalvertComment: This is very well done, I really like the feel of this. It should score fairly high, the only minor fault is the tufts on the ears. They are a very distinguishing mark of the Lynx. I would have predicted a Ribbon here if they were not cut off.
Good Luck with this I hope it does well for you. |

McDougall Church by CitadelComment: Another Blue in Alberta! Well done young man...not bad for a Nikon ! ha ha ...this is the first church I thought of when they announced this challenge , ( I remember recently, they filmed a Jesse James movie there.) However I never got out that way during the Challenge
The upper/lower borders really work well here with that wide crop .... pure genius! Very well done Congratulations on your first Blue the next one should arrive shortly |

Just hidden behind it...by sarampoComment: This is quite nice.... I've been to the bridge a few times and its ALWAYS fogged in, this past september I hardly even saw any of it.
More detail in the moon could have come from a slightly faster shutter to cut back on the light, possibly cutting back on the blown-out blended street lights lower right but maintain your obvious high f-stop in order to maintain depth of detail.that shutter speed will darken the rest of the shot but then, selectively lighten the rest of the shot in p.p. This is a really tough shot without having post processing. Good Luck here! |

Blue Cheeseby RasaiComment: This shot really has all it takes for a perfect shot your settings are near perfect, I would have maybe waited momentarily until the clouds moved slightly for a slightly brighter moon and possibly then cropped it a little tighter so that the moon was maybe a little larger and taking some of the blank black portion out. then possibly allowing the moon to be closer to the "rule of thirds"( not that that is always the answer) but may have worked a little better here. I know that often when we crop tighter /closer to the subject our images seem to get "noisier" however, a little more noise may have been tolerable in order to get the impact of a larger moon! Good Luck here! |
