Sunset in America

This one keeps getting higher every time I look at it. My first instinct when I see 2 crosses and an American flag in one image is to be very uncomfortable. If an image can cause that much feeling then it is worth paying attention to. Sadly, this is accurate for parts of America. I am bumping again. This looks like it could have been one of Robert Frank’s images in “The Americans” and he didn’t like a lot of what he saw. Bump again :-).

Didn’t vote but this would have been a top pick for me. Love all of the repeating elements, cracks in ground, plant leaves and, marks on black background. The colors are beautiful and the complimenting textures of the foreground and background are intriguing.

This would have been a 10 and top pick for me if I could have voted on it. I love all of the torn bits. It might have taken me a little while to figure out what I was looking at without the title but it seems like the title says it all.
