Midas Touch

Is this an apple-shaped piece of metal or an apple that's been painted with gold paint? The composition is very strong and cleverly executed. One thing that I think would make this jump out even more is that, if it is indeed an apple painted with gold paint, had you left the bottom right chunk of the apple unpainted, it would've looked like the transformation to gold was progressing through the piece of fruit. Just a thought. But this works very well as is.

Makes me want chocolate. Good choice of subject. Composition could be improved with maybe a bit more space between the top of the image and the chocolate.

What a face! Such character. Clever idea for the challenge, and I like how it came out. The teeth stand out extremely well because the face has such a deeply textured, rough look, and the teeth are so smooth and featureless.

Blond girl in a straw hat in front of wheat or some other brittle bleached grass. Classic subject material for a "Gold" challenge, and the execution is great. The shallow depth of focus works well, creating a simple gold background - this would've also been a good entry for the color on color challenge.

This is a good entry. Clearly recognizable as stained glass, but also has a kind of alluring, abstract feel to it.

There appears to be some sort of cobweb/dangling thread from the top of the torch that may have been brushed off prior to shooting. This is a good idea for a subject though. It may have been better against a simple or highly out-of-focus background, where there is less to distract the viewer.
