I like the subjects, the affection is evident. I feel this could be better if it was either more contrasty or softer and dreamy. This way to my eyes the image is a bit midway between the two extremes, even if I guess resolution might play a role and in large print the soft focus would be more evident. Not sure if and how this was post-processed, but sometimes this approach works well for this kind of images: Soft glow effect

Nice subject, expressive. The only thing is that, while the boy is well defined by the light, with a good sense of depth, the background looks very flat, almost like the boy was standing in front of another picture rather than belonging to the landscape. Also, I wonder whether cropping out the bit of landscape and the arm of the boy on the right could have suggested a stronger relationship between boy and house, and a sense of movement towards the left. But obviously that's just my taste (non voter). Good image!

I like this a lot, the degrading DOF, the grain which definetely works and the general hue. I wonder if the tonality is due to post-processing or to lighting and subjects only. In any case, a very pleasant image (non voter)

Suggestive. It is somewhat a pity that the grain, which certainly makes for the image, feels so digital, at least to my eyes.

Very interesting framing, turning the scar into an asset (unless it's not a real scar, at which point it would be a fake defect turned into a real asset.. uhh.. I'm getting confused :) Very good image (non voter)

A really effective image, the lack of details elsewhere locks up the viewer eye between the two eyes, the gun's and the man's. Actually, this would have been quite effective for the golden ratio challenge too (and probably demolished for the shallow dof, which is obviously what makes the image:) I can't vote, but I just love this, good job!

I guess its' just my taste, and some will find the increasing density of the spiral of shadow enticing, but I wonder if a bit more fill light from the right would not have worked better. Also, a closer crop on the spiral could have delayed of an instant understanding that this is actually a shell. But again, tha't just my opinion.
