They´re on the hand of the man outside, see, the guy out there opening the door of the car, look through the door of the shop.
The title of this photo seemed like a U2 lyric to me. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 01/10/2007 02:04:20 AM | Calligraphy IIby gjumiComment: Thanks for visiting this photo, voting it, commenting on it, and above all, appreciating it. I apologize to "where´s the fence?" group, but anyhow, I expected some might miss it. I had to rely on the "some fences are decorative" part of the challenge description, hence entered. |
| 01/10/2007 01:42:37 AM | Round Midnightby riotComment: Compositionally, this photo is great, because the centered composition follows naturally. I don´t like that it isn´t monochrome, a simple play with light, instead having the colors of human skin opposing the white of the music sheet. A small detail, but not such a big deal would be asking your model to remove the ring. All these, small observations from the technical point.
Regarding the story, this photo is confusing to me, because it´s periphery is so smooth and pleasant (lovely hands and music sheet), but then at the center is this big dark noisy O, punching my face. I don´t understand the title either: it might work as Jazz, or whatever, but this photo doesn´t say Round midnight to me, despite the association of the sax´s O with the clock.
Still, a very good photo, which, if black and white, I could see hanging on the walls of some jazz bar. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/10/2007 01:02:45 AM | old globeby cheleComment: Yes, a mistake, but I can´t say what is wrong. I feel some hand shaking, my eyes are pushed to the top right angle, maybe because of the light. Compositionally this is perfect, I think, and the thick border is a great idea. But, there´s just something wrong with the focus and light here...I don´t know, but it never made me go for more than a 5 here.
Looking forward to see you in the other challenges. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 01/10/2007 12:36:19 AM | Brother Fence, Sister Stickby posthumousComment: As far as I can see in my computer, a great processing tribute.
As for the story, I think this is an interesting study/play with form, line, shape and levels of gray, but I don´t read more than that. I think the title is supposed to come from those fairy-tales of Brother Sun and Sister Moon (or, is it the other way?), but I can´t link it to this photo.
The fence looks masculine, as if with arms opened and ready to protect a feminine, bending, vulnerable stick, but I feel that´s too much of a mind-stretching... | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 01/06/2007 01:00:05 AM | Skies is the limit...by RhettComment: 2 nothing is in focus here, pixelated, and I´m wondering if the picture loaded completely.
Back to add: it loaded completely and it's just as bad...Hopefully you'll do better next time. |
