Rebelby massmediakid31Comment: A very good photo. The half of the body included in the photo gives some dynamics to the shot and I get the impression that the guy just stopped for a shot and then he'll run and get fully into the frame. He's in charge, man! Also background lightning works well here. And the format, I love this movie like feel of the shot. |

...of God and Man.by shoelessajComment: I stopped at this photo because of its title. The thumbnail gives the impression that I'm about to see the top of a cathedral, but once I opened it I saw the top of an unfinished building. Then I realized that god is on the clouds, and men are the ones building the building, like a Babel tower type of thing.
OK, now I guess I know what I'm looking at. I'd increase the contrast a bit, saturate, so that the blue of the clouds and the darks of the building pop up off the image.
I don't know if you could go closer to the building, so that to improve on the composition. The idea is to confront the geometric and crystalline shape of the building with the amorphous clouds. AS it is, the photo is just a frontal shot of the scene, without any dramatic impact.
I'd say, it has potential, but it isn't good as it it.
In my opinion.

Payback Time!by GiorgioComment: I think an open mouth would do better on conveying the suffocation. The eyes are just perfect. |

Perspectiveby e301Comment: Originally posted by skiprow: what a dilemma: ruin the shot by showing part of the table, or shoot it the way you envision it and hope for the best... |
I hope the Photographer doesn't have that dilemma: he just shows the best and it's up to the voters to educate their eyes. People should have trusted more, this shot could have been taken from the table and it doesn't matter whether it really was.
Those eyes on the screen, those eyes are mean! |

Tavolina e Umberto Ekosby gjumiComment: Thanks for having a look at this photo. One of Umberto Eco's book has a similar photo on the cover, but that's color. I decided for a different look, that's black and white and with books closer to the lens (filling the frame). The dark becoming light is supposed to show what Eco does: he shines the dark ages, doesn't he? I don't know whether the dark is so extreme; it's black, but not so much, and only for a small part of the photo.
Thanks to JPR for giving me something more than a ribbon! |

monumentalby taseComment: Beautiful! I like the composition, the clouds, the building, the processing...well, yes the black and white and the contrast, but not the sizing, because I can see those artifacts; the lines aren't straight, but with saws. |

Sticky Fingersby muur88Comment: I'm curious about the photo on the newspaper: is that a real newspaper with a real photo? I looked in your portfolio and couldn't find it.
I find the hand on the newspaper more important than the one with the sticky fingers. |
