i like to take the offbeat path, so i steered away from glass and water. i had taken a macro of my cat's eye before that came out really nice, so i wanted to try it again. the cat's eye really has a lot more curvature than the human's.

well, kitty wasn't so cooperative this time, she kept trying to nuzzle the camera and roll over. so i turned to my long-suffering wife : ) .. i tried a number of angles and came up with this amazing edge lighting that really seemed to evoke someone looking at the something visionary.

the light source is a bare bulb about 5 feet away in front of the eye and a little bit to her right hand side.

this was a fun one. thanks for all the positiivity, folks : )

hey congratulations! I'm glad that my see-thru kiwi fruit slice and using the laptop screen for backlighting suggestons worked out so well for you : ) .. I am in agreement still, as I told you before, with those that are a little freaked out by the radicchio and how it doesnt really 'go' with the fruit : )
