A fun picture to critique!

OK, I'm going to be brutal about what I think would make this better, but please don't take it personally because I think this is a great concept with much imagination.

A) the photo of the person needs (implied imho) to be sharp.

B)the cutouts of the window and the cat should not have any white edges. That destroys the illusion to a degree. The cat is a nice, sort of Monty Python-esque touch :).

C) If possible in your image editor curve the window so that it appears to follow the contour of the forehead somewhat.

D) Raise the brightness and saturation of the brain, for more contrast with the black and white, and more visibility.

I hope you try this again, and if you do, let me know!

In this image, colors and textures are excellent. Details is excellent and exposure is very good.

However, compositionally, I wonder if there might be a way to inject some more movement or interest. We have a pattern but what is the context? what is the story? what is there about this subject to offer us an emotional connection to the picture such that we care or think about it ?

Those are some of the things one can consider when working on a photo...You've obviously mastered technique, but now think a little bit more about what you want your pictures to 'say'.

Colors and textures strongest part of this picture. Very artistic. Somehow there is a loss of detail that makes it seem impressionistic. DPC voters may not have appreciated that as much as a more sharply rendered image.

Compositionally, the angle is interesting but I wonder what would have occurred if you had shot perpendicular to the house surface? Or maybe a deeper angle alongside.

Overall nice picture with interesting colors and textures.

nice attempt at representing this mammoth transition. i wonder if you bit off more than you can chew? this works better as an art piece than a photo for me.
