I'm not sure that you have a true neg. background only surrounding area (Water) of same color. Think in terms of removing 'negating' the background by blurring or what ever bringing all the attention to the duck and making it all look pretty. Then you got a winner! I hope this helps. I'm a self professed flower hater, I think people who resort to flowers are "lazy daises" and wussies with no imagination. Flowers are safe and easy and can almost always guarantee you a middling score. I have stopped voting on them because of my bias. After the way my score has tanked lately I'm ready to invest in a greenhouse but, that is neither here nor there.

Your photo is beautiful, you are one of the very few people on here who understand how to incorporate negative space properly, great job.

I can't get a handle on what your subject is here, by trying to capture both the person and the Geo. feature at the same time you did both a disservice. If you choose your subject and then look at photo you will hopefully see what I am trying to impart. Good luck in the challenge.
