True love indeed. It reminds me of my parents who were married for over 50 years. My dad was bedridden for several years (he passed on last year) and mom took care of him, just like this, day and night, in spite of her own aches. But no matter how hard it was for her she still, to this day, misses him, as I am sure your mom will miss your dad.

My prayers are for your family.

Excellent idea for an invitation. Very original. Saturated colors look great. The only thing I would do different is to change font color to white, and font style to something different.
