Strike Oneby scotthadlComment: Nicely captured ... great composition. The blown highlights in the flam work here and the fire pattern give a great sens of striking the match, further reinforced by the message on the box. *8* |

firestarterby ursulaComment: Very cool match-behind-a-match capture. If I had to nitpick this one it'd be limited to the rear match head being slightly visible right of the foreground match ... otherwise, well executed. *8* |

Made in Heavenby JuliBocComment: Wonderful capture with great technical qualities ... and nicely processed. The only thing that detracts from this in any way is the red dot in the rightmost mallard's reflection. *9* |

A Flare with Flair by Jaded_HousewifeComment: Nicely done. Only criticism -- and likely out of your control -- is that the flame goes outside the frame ... this would be a 10 if the match were further left in the composition and the flame fully captured, but otherwise exactly as seen here. *8* |

Matchboxby pervertheroComment: The layout/composition and subject are standout, but I'm not hot on the processing ... it looks like a photo of something on TV. I'm all for creative license and going beyond basic "stock photography" type shots, I just don't see a correlation between the treatment (assuming it isn't actually a photo of something on screen) and the challenge topic. |

...Made in Heavenby LN13Comment: Nice quality of light and great concept, with the wedding bands set against a corresponding matchbook from the wedding ... two (or three - gold bands, marriage/couple implied, and matchbook) matches in one scene. :) It'd be nice to see just a tick more of the matches peaking out from the matchbook and composition could be stronger. |
