being there with sisterby dizzydean3Comment: *Critique Club*
The first thing that hits me when I look at the image is the flash reflections on the statue. Judging by the light in your background, you may not have needed a flash at all. I think the statues look better dark - almost like silhouettes. The focus is more on the statue in front which doesn't convey a sense of partnership with the statue in the background. The angle you shot from also obscures the face of the background statue. If you want to draw on the pair as sisters, that background statue needs to have more weight in the composition.
This was your fifth entry, so I hope to see you continue to shoot. Just keep your mind on your subject, lighting, and composition.

Don't Roll Overby dopydoodComment: *Critique Club*
You have a really nice composition here. I don't think there is anything to improve on the crop or framing. Your horizon is very level, and the subject on land going across diagonally forms a nice flow for the eye. The only thing I can suggest to improve this photo is to work on the colors. Though the colors are nice, they seem a little flat. You have such nice textures in the water, plants, teddy bear. Bring out that texture with some more contrast maybe or some adjustments to the shadows and highlights. If you have Photoshop, you can fine tune it with a curve adjustment. I wish the teddy was closer to the subject too.
Congrats on your first challenge entry. You did very well! Look forward to seeing more from you. Best of luck.

Comfort on hair ( or air ?)by LionsitalyComment: *Critique Club*
The first things I notice about this image are the specks or dust on your sensor. When you have a close-up like this with a lot of empty space, it is vital that you keep it clean.
The second thing I notice is the composition. The insect on the hair is very light and small. Maybe this would have worked better had the insec'ts wings pointed towards the lower right hand corner of the frame. I think cropping some of the empty space might have helped the insect not get lost in the space. I just don't get a feel that the composition is deliberate or thought out.
I think the colors and tiny details in the wings are points you would want to bring out. Perhaps a little sharpening might help in that area.
This is only your 9th challenge entry. Don't get discouraged. Just take your time and think about your subject. Think about what you are trying to convey and how best to present that to the rest of us. You might want to keep a lens cloth handy to wipe any dust off your lense while shooting. If your sensor is dirty, consider taking it to a camera shop and getting it cleaned.
