First Dateby vawendyComment: This was yours!!! Wendy, you never cease to surprise me with what you accomplish when you venture outside your comfort zone. Very well done in color, clarity, and warped humor. Only little critique is that the hair light is a little too prominent. |

Great details and expression captured here. Lighting is very good for it illuminates the whole face such that your audience can see the eyes, the rosy cheeks, and that happy, toothy grin. Great work. |

for what ails youby saintaugustComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
I really like these 'environmental' portraits where it gives you a sense of the person by either character or where they work/play. Very clearly from the backdrop this woman is a healer and the period of dress is from days long past (pioneer days methinks). The lighting and details you captured are splendid. I do have one little critique that I feel would make the composition even stronger. I think it would have been better if you zoomed up a bit more to eliminate the bottom 20% just about where one can see that paper. Zooming up closer would have a twofold effect on the composition. First, the the backdrop of the medicine bottles would fill the scene without any distracting elements; it would further compliment the healer in her environment. Second you would bring your audience closer to the personality, showing off more details about her by getting up into the greeting distance. |

Love the 'freeze frame' of the action that is about to happen as he makes the pitch. Lighting and details are fabulous. The tilt of the head in this composition is also great because I get the sense of the wind-up of this incoming pitch. It is not static as a facing straight forward type shot but one that speaks action and intent. |

Love how she is peeking out from the curtains. The expression is so playful! The charming smile and those big eyes just draws the viewer in. Great job! |

Fierceby JulietNNComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Lighting is exceptional. Details and color are great - love how the scales on the snake are tack sharp. Indeed it seems the pet owner is more fierce and threatening than the snake with that 'Don't mess with me" expression. Just a small critique - I wish that the snake was also looking straight at us giving me the stare done like his/her owner is. |

There is that mischievous twinkle in the eye as he exits stage left - off to do who know what!:-) Lighting is good and details are very good. Wish you captured just a little more of that smile. I think it would have also made the composition even stronger if there was something in the backdrop the further cemented the idea of being mischievous. |

The Bedroom Window by njsabsComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
All elements come together in this stunning capture. Love the light that illuminates the whole scene. Composition and mood of the piece is lovely too. I get the feel of the early morning light and the breeze that comes through the window. It shows a moment in time where this woman & her pet take a moment to enjoy the view and a quiet hour by the window... Details are fabulous - from the sharp details of the woman's hair braids to the fur on the cat. |
