Now that is a unique way to demonstrate the word definition. Image is clear, sharp and lighting is fabulous. Love how the bold hues of purple and yellow also jump out and pop out at you.

Ha! If thoughts popped up in a speech balloon all the truths people hide then we'd all be honest all the time or someone would invent a device/drug to quash that ability:-) The cat in the business suit gets the point across very well - one can say one thing swearing it's the truth with a raised hand but the thoughts revel the truth. Two critiques: I think most speech bubbles are white so the black looks a bit odd. I understand why you did it because it pops off the backdrop more and the plate is white so that would get washed out. The backdrop is rather odd with so many transition fades in tone that it becomes a bit distracting. I think a solid tone would have made for a cleaner presentation - especially if your main subject can visually pop off the background more because of dynamic contrast.

Nice word play on this photo composition! Great focus on the little mouse. I think the glasses suit him - he looks cute and distinguished at the same time:-)

Ha! That pug has an Oscar the Grouch type expression. Great photographic capture. Great details down to the whiskers on him. Wow, he/she has really big eyes - all the better to flash the 'puppy dog eyes' at you to get what this doggie wants. Nicely done.

Dream of Autumn

Wow, now that is an interesting location. The statue dominates the scene with the bur tipped reeds seem to lean in towards it. This photo has a surreal/conceptual feel to it - the woman's head with the closed eyes seems to be dreaming. The clouds can either be looked at as emanating from her or could be converging in on her. There are not many visual cues within the photo that speaks strongly Autumn or Fall to me. Perhaps if the color version had some colors that are associated with Autumn a connection could be made.

Very cool study of lines and shadows. The tree/bush branches are silhouettes that pop off the white snowy ground. The composition as it stands speaks more strongly of winter and not autumn. Perhaps if there was just one single leaf on the ground between the branches a strong visual connection to Autumn could be made.

Beautiful shot of a fisherman in the late afternoon soon to be setting daylight hours. Great silhouette of the fisherman and pole against the sky. We can clearly see his hand extended with the fish in a gesture of offering. The stork/crane approaches in flight towards the offer to share. Lovely composition...not sure if it is a widely recognized meme, but well put together and captured.

Ha! Vadering and in the hands of a kid is just dangerous:-) Love the addition of the detail of the boy wearing a Star Wars t-shirt. Expressions are great and add to the composition. I do have one critique and that is if the title is going to explain what is going on then you'd best have all the elements in the composition. There is nothing IN the photo itself to show the lack of cookies - we have to rely on the title more. I think if you had shown an empty cookie jar resting on the counter it would strengthen the scene in the photo.

Not the Grumpy Cat but a sad & droopy cat. Aw, look at those sad eyes and frowny mouth. It makes me wonder what this cat is sad about such that it is giving us "the puppy dog eyes' treatment of begging to get something back.

Autumn's First Leaf

Great light and details captured in this shot. I like the idea you are presenting to me and the audience. However, the Autumn leaf takes a back seat to all those bold and vibrant blue flowers and deep green of the grass. Those flowers speak Spring to me - not Summer where it will naturally fall into Autumn. I think had you cropped closer and trimmed much of the field of flowers out of the frame to put the focus solely on the leaf it would project Autumn more strongly. I suspect that the leaf was planted there and as such you would have control over the arrangement of elements. If so, then a leaf that is less crumpled to show off the full shape would have been best. It would show off more details in the leaf and be more readily identifiable as a leaf.
