This photo makes me think of the phrase "shoot for the moon". That trail certainly blazes across the night sky. Nice details on the crescent moon. Three small suggestions that I think would help increase the visual appeal of the shot even more. First is that there is a lot of 'red' noise splotches in the dark blue sky. A good Denoise program could get rid of that - Topaz Denoise has a clean color feature. Second, I'd crop out the bottom right up to the start of the trail. That way the trail would begin from the bottom left corner and not only show the exact starting point of the journey but be a leading line that the eye follows. Lastly, I think the title could be better to compliment the photo:-) |

Great tones and detail in this desert graveyard. The sepia tones give it a feel of age - bringing to mind the idea of the ol' west. |

Love the colors of the clouds, the glow of the moon and the strike of lightning. It is the golds, soft oranges and the steely blues that color the heavens with an ethereal air. Given the light soft hues of the heavens above I think that this would be more visually stunning if you cropped out all of or nearly all of the heavy dark tones of the ground plain. It weighs down the light and airy feel seen in the ethereal clouds. |

Whooo are you looking at? Oh...that would be me:-) Great color and detail in those big orange eyes. He is staring me down, but I get a great look at all the details in this owl's face down to the downy soft textures of the feathers to the sharp & pointy beak. Well done. |

I love the mood lighting is these abandoned buildings hallway. It is eerie, spooky and mysterious. My eye is drawn to the vanishing point of this hallway where the the light then tapers off to darkness. This is a good study of light & shadow and mood but I feel like this is more of a foundation or stage for something more to be there - something that will manifest but does not in the frame we are watching. It just needs that extra 'something' to complete the visual 'story' of the capture. |

Wow, now that is a sight you don't see everyday! Great capture of these lionesses stalking the herd. They have each others back while facing down the water buffalo who are turned to face the threat. I do have two little suggestions on how the visual impact of the shot can be improved. First, why not go big to the maximum size limits? Details of the lions and the water buffalo would be more visible and appreciated by the eye. Second I'd have the main subject fill the frame more by cropping out much of the ground plain and some off the sides. That way, we the viewers, get closer to the stalking lionesses and feel more involved in the action by being closer rather that further back and remote. |

Black & White tones are just fantastic! Love the viewpoint of these birds taking flight. I feel as if I am standing there observing as they fly overhead. The inclusion of just the one wing that takes prominence in the frame makes this very different than just a shot of birds in the air. It makes it unique in showing off a part of the bird that takes flight while we see all the others soaring above. |

Inayby odriewComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Where there is pain, there is life. This is both beautiful and abominable at the same time. Beautiful in the sense that you have a mother dog feeding her pups. The nurturing and caring for her young are important to her. Given the girth and size of the pups they are nice and healthy. The abominable is from seeing the state of health the mother is in. She is chained up, skinny and has sores and lost chunks of fur on her body. She is caring for her pups but who is caring for her?! Your capture made me wonder why the title 'Inay' so I looked to find that it is the Filipino word for mom/mother. So I am back to both the beauty of the mother caring & giving to her young but the anger/sadness that no one is doing the same for her health and well being. |

This definitely captures the slice of life happening on this street corner. The B&W tones are good. But with all the players in the scene, I am having trouble figuring out who or what is the main subject of your visual story. Is it the cameraman on the right? Is it the bubble artist near the middle? Is it the person with the big hair that looks like they are on the phone? Or the child walking by? I'm guessing that I am not the only one feeling lost in the shuffle and trying to get a focal point. There is just too much going on here to find the focal point. I think your visual 'story' would be much clearer if the frame had fewer characters and also a clear action or interaction between them. |
