Then bring friends around it. by jjbeguinComment: What a visually inviting composition. Textures and colors are all warm and inviting - but of course it is the promise of good cheese, wine, and fresh bread that gets us to pull a chair up to the table to enjoy the food and company to follow. |

Swirls of Colorby dsa157Comment: Wow, you got some very nice color swirls with your food coloring in the glass on this one! Love the swirls of predominent yellows and greens with just a touch of deep blue. This is very dreamy and while the white background draws attention to the main focus it doesn't compliment the feel that we get when we look at it. When I see the glass with it's wonderful color swirls I think dreamy, dreamlike, surreal, and serene. I think that the background should compliment those thoughts (perhaps just a background of a blue sky with or without a smattering of clouds) or just get rid of the background altogether and focus on the main object. |

egg/shellby dsa157Comment: I love the play on words! This really could be a good shot if you got some more lighting to illuminate the egg in it's fullness. The bottom half of the egg disappears into shadow. I, as the viewer, want to see the full egg. Perhaps a little spotlight shined on the subject will get rid of that shadow. Also the lighting gives the objects a yellowish tinge to them. While not as noticable on the shell it is noticable on the egg. In the mind's eye eggs are bright white - and a bright white on the egg would help it to contrast with the black background better not to mention help it to litterally pop visually off the page. I do like the lighting on the shell some in light most in shadow - it takes on the look of a cornocopia with an egg filling it. |

Pegasusby dsa157Comment: Carousel horses hold so much memories of one's childhood - they also symbolize childhood for so many that is why even as adults we are enchanted with them. I really like - scratch that I really love this shot for it has the carousel horse emerging from the darkness - like a pleasent memory coming to the surface. The horse itself is elegantly crafted and with the play of light and shadows we really come to appreciate all it's colorful features and the wonderful textures seen on it's strong neck. Wonderful job! |

Markenby AzrifelComment: Very beautiful, scenic, and serene. The B&W contrast is excellent. However, I do wonder what it would look like in color. You mention in the description that this place has many "green and black wooden buildings". I wonder how vivid and/or bold those hues appear against the greens of the grass and the blue of the sky. |

Dalarna Horsesby AzrifelComment: It has been a long time since I have seen one of these beautifully crafted horses. The red and blue horses are beautiful but I wonder if the stark white background was a good choice - I think in this shot at least it tends to wash out the rich colors. Perhaps a black background would be better to make those colors 'pop' out from a darker contrast. Plus it would draw the eye ever more to those colors. |

Famineby aznymComment: The stark white background along with the barren trees in the background really adds to the imagery that you wish to portray here: a cold, stark, and empty world. The statue carries another figure and on the face we can clearly see the anguish crafted into it's face. All elements combine to make us 'see' a little of the pain and suffering that occured during Ireland's Great Potato Famine. |

giraffe-at-the-doorby ellamayComment: What a surprise one gets when opening the door! I don't think I have ever seen a giraffe standing outside a doorway waiting to be let in:-) Very nice shot. |

the old barn by ursulaComment: Again this is visually stunning. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. And the barn's tones of orange/brown warm hues contrast with the cold mountain peaks seen in the distance. |

Fallby ursulaComment: The colors and scenery is fantastic. The hues are warm and golden. I am caught holding my breath for this really takes on the aspects of a painting found hanging on the wall. |
