The details on this cactus does indeed look alien. The composition where the 'tendrils' travel to the top right makes it look like it is extending out it's tentacles to snare some unsuspecting prey.

Lovely magical light that sparkles upon the water. It turns this capture of the silhouettes of the two swans swimming into and enchanting scene.

Now this capture has some fantastic details on this tiny bird - love how you can see all the fine detail and color in the feathers! I've seen many a picture of hummingbirds in flight but this is a rare shot showing them at rest in their nest.

I like the mood and story of this composition. This little boy travels a path through the verdant 'jungle' in search of adventure. I wonder where his travels and his imagination will take him.

Great light and what a wonderful smile she has! Her smile is also seen in the warmth of her eyes (great catchlights by the way). I love how she is greeting us with a wonderfully warm and happy smile.

Love the bemused smiles as these men stare back at us from there bench. It makes me think that they have just shared a small joke and was interrupted by our appearance in strolling the town's streets.

Love the bokeh circles with the many jewel tone colors. It invokes the idea that this is a magic mushroom with dancing fairy lights in the backdrop. The imagination travels to the wonderland that Alice stepped and awaits for the hookah smoking caterpillar to take a seat upon the mushroom top.

Love the juxtaposition of the old castle ruin with the dramatic morning sunrise. The old sees the light of the new day which the title speaks of. Beautifully lit and well composed that delivers an eye catching and lovely landscape.
