Out my window I did spy
a bluejay in the tree nearby.
He cocked his head to listen close
to the twitter of lady birds, I suppose.

Wonderful color and clarity - love the details in the feathers. With the tilt of his head, he really does look he is listening in on the bird chatter.

Investigating if my roses had matured,
I came upon a little ladybird.
I stopped & watched her crawl around.
My curiosity abound,
I drew out my magnifying glass
and gasped for she was a hairy lass!

There are some AMAZING details in this shot! Great macro shot - I love how this little insect has hairs that are as fine as the hairs on the leaf of that rosebud.

Against the darkness,
We trumpet our floral beauty.
To nature's rhythmic music,
we unfurl our petal skirts and twirl.

The colors pop visually off the dark backdrop and it calls our attention the beauty and interesting shape of this flower.

For dinner I ordered duck,
but along come this bold, little cluck.
She ruffled her feathers daring me to pluck
I had to laugh for the silly exchange left me dumb-struck
As for my meal, I realized I was out of luck.

What a fun and playful portrait! You can't help but smile:-)

Life cycles from night to day.
My journey begins with the golden glow.
New adventures dawn and I ride to meet them.

This is absolutely spectacular in color and mood! Congrats on a wonderful capture. New adventures do indeed dawn at early morning.

A majestic sight to behold,
his eagle eye now dimmed.
Home was once skies above the stars & stripes.
Lost now, his feathers planted firmly on the ground.

I know the eagle stands for many things in other countries, but for me this majestic bird speaks of a land of freedom and liberty. Here he is blind in one eye or resting BUT he is no longer free to fly off into the wild blue yonder; given the bars I see. Some nice details in the feathers and head.

Slaps hand on head! The clock was staring me in the face the whole time and I MISSED that clue while focusing on what I could not see. Time travelers...the mystery lies in the question "Where did they go?" Argh! I am annoyed with myself that I missed that clue you clearly provided.

She looked back over her shoulder at the ruins they were leaving. The sadness was heavy. The past lay behind them, but she carried her family's future.
Bearing her granddaughter on the foundation of her back, she turned to the road and a new home.

That is the story I feel when I look upon this shot. A great shot - something I would expect to see in a story in National Geographic.

Day stretches across the piazza.
Walks of life are illuminated
Pounding across the pavement.

The B&W tones are great; very dynamic. Love how we see silhouetted among the city square all 'walks' of daily life. A very nicely captured street shot.

Night blankets the sky.
The sun settles in to rest
upon the tangled bed of trees.

I love the silhouettes of the trees that shelter the beautiful red/gold of the sun.
