Tree of Lifeby VitaminBComment: Branches reach for sky
hanging vines stretch roots to land
joining heaven and earth.
Always an amazing sight are these massive trees with hanging vines - the tree reaches for the sun while the vines grow in the opposing direction. |

Windmills in sunsetby RUEDISCHMUTZComment: In the vast fields stand,
towering, timber flowers.
Their four petal vanes
spin in a harmonious cycle
with the path of the sun.
They rise and they set.
Absolutely beautiful lighting - rich red/orange hues. I love the silhouettes of the windmills. It struck me that they are like large wood flowers facing the sun. Their mill house motion to grind the grain follows the the repetitive cycle of the sun rising and falling. |

Yellow Flowerby dsa157Comment: A wild flower is she,
dressed for the hunt
in yellow with tattooed stripes.
Her mane of hair flares
and painted claw extends,
the tiger lily is on the prowl.
Great lighting and detail on this model portrait! Her pose and how she is dressed conjures up imagery of a wild flower AND that of a wild cat - thus, in my mind, tiger lily is an apt combination/description of this photo. |

Ruby Throated Hummingbirdby scrum8Comment: Wings beat a quick tune

Fabulous detail and rich color in the body of this tiny bird. Still amazing to me that while one part of the body is in full hypersonic motion that we can still see razor sharp detail in the rest of body...this is true live in person as it is in camera. |

Yellow Ashby pmichaudComment: Sunbeams pour gold light
drizzling leaves with rich tones
Oh, what a sweet sight
Beautiful rich golden tones in those leaves. Nice details in the foreground and the bokeh in the backdrop is quite lovely. |

jazz manby bmartuchComment: The crowd takes note

People's mood moves

Nice street capture. I wonder what soulful sounds he is playing on the street corner. Good light and nice details, I just wish we could see more of the instrument along side the musician in the composition. |

Still Lifeby izadoodleComment: Life harvests the light
lines sprout as fruit takes shape.
The cupboard yields its bounty

The lighting on this still life is fabulous - the B&W dynamic tones are excellent and it calls the eyes attention to the shapes and textures. |

Found Astrayby BuddyBaumComment: I wander.
I roam.
I dare you
to take me home.
You captured great detail on the eyes and face. And that stare. That full on stare at us is trying to measure whether he should run for it or *allow* us to approach. It is a stare that is sizing us up; measuring us. One that speaks that if you are entertaining the thought to take him home it would be foolish. For he, not you, will choose if he stays or runs off to roam. |

Autumn Path by franktheyankComment: Stepping stones branch up
as green sprouts to harvest red
leaves tumble and fall
What a lovely path to take a stroll through. Love the colors of summer greens that blend to the red/golds of the autumn trees. |

Hello there little fella'by DougTannerComment: I lean my back onto it's supportive trunk.
The shelter of the shade,
sings to me with the rustle of leaves.
My thoughts follow the tangle of the tree,
and find two, timid eyes staring back at me.
I greet the little, masked fellow with a hello
and I leave him to the branches cozy hug,
for we have both sought the comfort of the tree.
We spend so much time rushing about, looking down or straight forward. In those rare times we look up, we might find someone or something looking down at us:-) Quite an unexpected surprise. Nature gives us shelter in many different ways:-) |
