Invisibilittyby vawendyComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now.
I really like the humor seen in this Super shot. The fancy level of dress of the woman makes me think of a celebrity - pearls, gloves and fancy umbrella (I love umbrellas). I find it very amusing that an invisible woman would be annoyed/worried about her picture being taken. I get the feeling that we are the paparazzi taking pictures of the invisible woman and she is holding up her hand in the defensive 'push away/go away' stance to tell us to stop. |

Inventory Checkby dtremainComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
I admit I did not get it until further viewing and trying to understand what you were trying to present. The "A-ha!" moment then came to me: X-ray vision to check what is behind the cabinets. I think that showing a person in the shot staring intently at the cabinet with perhaps a faint beam coming out of the eyes would greatly strengthen your concept and help a greater majority of your viewers understand your image.
I also am wondering just what is that in the cabinets....matches? Why would it not be cans of food if a pantry cabinet. Hmmm, maybe this is an office cabinet and that would make those things...pens???? |

FRANKENPROPS (shapeshifter)by Art RoflmaoComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Woodies, duckies, and godzilla, oh my! Ha! Just noticed the Gorillapod tripod standing in as a bandolier! Frankenprops even has a sidekick...or is that just the monkey on his back?;-) - A fun image:-) |

The Human Flameby Bobby-ListonComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now.
At both times I have looked at your composition and both times it invokes the idea of what a Polynesian God of Fire would look like. I think it is because of the rich red/brown tones and the deep shadow lines that define the details/lines of the body that reminds of an artist's work in Hawaii who creates scenes of Polynesian culture and mythology by burning images into wood (woodburning art). Then the fire along the arm takes on a tribal tattoo quality. But I think that you were definitely not going for that imagery as that I now noticed a specific detail that I missed because I was looking at the image as a whole. The fiery 4 on the chest now changes my original impressions a tad. This is the Human Torch from the Fantastic Four...but I still can't help from seeing the composition as a Polynesian God of Fire. Nonetheless, the processing and imagery is different, interesting and unique to look upon (going to bump up my vote after more consideration) . |

The Invisible Man Takes a Tea Breakby DistantColoursComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Good effort - I get the unsettling feeling that he is staring right at me but I can't 'see' his stare:-) You have taken a common scene and made it uncommon; stepping it into the realm of the supernatural. Now I do have one small critique and one suggestion to offer. First is that the position of the cup diminishes the illusion of an invisible man a tad. It seems to low as that the rim is level with the collar of the shirt. The mouth would be higher. Had the cup been at level with where the mouth would be, the illusion would be sustained 100%. Now my small suggestion, sometimes little added details can be the 'cherry on top' on an image. I think that something could have been added to the surface of the coffeecup in post processing to perhaps add humor like "Seeing is Believing" or maybe something from pop culture on superheroes like "I love X-men". |

Shapeshifting (She turns into smoke) by Alex_PetriniComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Her expression is a mixture of pleasant surprise and pride. It makes me think that she has had the ability but had to train to master it...and this is the moment where it successfully works the first time. Thus the pride and pleasant surprise. The effect of her turning into mist/smoke is way cool...it is a very neat effect. The composition is well done but there is one thing about the action that strikes me as a little odd. Is she is in the act of turning into smoke or is she 'reforming' into corporeal form? The expression and the point of where she 'tapers' off into smoke send conflicting signals. If she was turning into smoke then I think she would taper off into thin wisps on the fingers. But here in the composition she is tapering off into thinner wisps just above the elbow and that kinda makes me think she is turning back into her corporeal form. Still well done and methinks it will be in the top 20%. |

The Hulkby mbrutus2009Comment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now.
Action in the shot is great - the tearing of the shirt, the screaming rage on the face as the inner beast/madness manifests. I like the 'grunge' texture overlay on the subject for it gives it a gritty feel that plays into the mood/feel pictured here. |

Never stop Believingby zarkoComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now. It may not show the 'typical' idea of superpower by action or manifestation of power, but I LOVE this! The power of imagination and belief comes off strong. It perfectly captures the wonder of the world I child has...something we lose when we become older. This captures the simple pure joy a child has when donning the suit of their imagination. This little boy can and is "Superman" with the power of his imagination. Love it! |

Don't be silly, I'm only a sheepby skewsmeComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now.
Saw this late last night after rollover and that is just flat out FREAKY!!!! Oh, nothing to see here but some shee----eeeek! Fangs! I think I will have nightmares now thank you very much;-). A transforming wolf in sheep's clothing. Not what the typical voter will probably expect I'm sure, but I find this is VERY effective in invoking the supernatural aspect of the challenge. A Grim's Fairy Tales Superpower. |

Assembledby LandzEncaComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Ha! Very clever! This mixes the phrase "Some assembly required" with putting together children's toys and assembling the team...the Avengers team that is:-). Let's see, we have a bit of Thor, a lot of Hulk, a bit of Iron Man, and some Captain America (no Hawkeye or Black Widow, but I don't know what you could have done to insert those two as this super has his hands full). Very fun image. |
