The Long And Winding Roadby MargaretNetComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Beautiful scenery with some lovely light illuminating the scene. Love the bend and curve in the road that plays into the title of the song. |

Happiness is a Warm Gunby bobnospumComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Fabulous capture - I can almost hear the radio blaring the song as this soldier sits at the ready. The B&W tones are great - well done. |

Carry That Weightby Purple_GirlComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Nice details and lighting on the rat. That said, it is a fair shot of this pet rat but it doesn't really invoke the song in my head. I see someone taking great care of their pet but nothing that speaks that they are 'carrying' a (great) weight (of their past) and/or not allowing someone to get close emotionally (given some of the lines in the song). The hands cradling the rat shows more of the emotion of love - so for me it just doesn't capture the song title. My other critique is that I wish that the pose of the rat had something more that captured his/her character or emotion - such as standing on all fours, head & nose extended to look lovingly at the off screen owner. |

Don't see many working typewriters anymore. The photo is simple, clean and very effective in invoking the song. Nice light and details in the composition - well done. |

Gastropodia Tropicaliaby CoryComment: Grats on the great finish, Cory. You need to go back and give this little guy something for his time and trouble to pose for you;-);-) You did a bang up job with the lighting and focus - the textures/details on the snail and the leave are fabulous. The red, blue and green colors are bold and rich in tone that they just pop off the page. |

'See How They Run' - Lady Madonna (1968) by bassboneComment: Heh, great visual to suit that portion of the lyric line.. Hmmm, the second half of the line mentions a gun and to announce the start of the race begins with the firing of a gun so it is a good fit there too. Love how you captured the runners about to bolt from the starting line - good action. The processing is also excellent. Well done. |

Take these broken wings and learn to flyby markwileyComment: Great capture of the pigeon 'rising' above all the others that remain on the ground. I like how you captured the pigeon in flight to dominate the top right corner for I feel like he is about to fly out of the scene as he soars to greater heights. Nicely done. |

The whole of this image just speaks 'artsy'. The grain adds a textural feel to this. It also projects the idea that this is a vision from memory or mayhap a moment in time in the distant past. The two children here make me think of the whole Yin/Yang concept as well as the Pisces concept. The two girls are having a conversation and it makes me stop to wonder just what are they talking about. I like how you have the water/sea in the shot for it helps with connecting the visual to the symbol of Pisces. Still, I wish there was just a little more to show a even stronger connection to the zodiac sign. Hmmmm, perhaps if the symbol for Pisces was overlayed in another layer so that it looked like it was drawn in the sand between the two girls. |

O.K. am I the only one who sees the two goat heads (for the bottom head, look at the bottom center half which has the head and the blue portions are the ears) in the center of this kaleidoscope composition???? After I get over the center portion that stares me in the face I see all the other textural details of the fish and scales. While it is a different and texturally strong image, I think it suffers from being a little too busy, but that just might be my taste. |

Virgoby elizadebComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
The lighting and focus on the main subject is fabulous. However, there is not enough within the composition to tell me without a shadow of doubt that this is Virgo. I have to take your word for it and the title of what you are telling me. But if you show me that this is Virgo then composition would be stronger for it. It goes by the saying, 'Show, don't tell'. The wings on the statue make me think that this is more of a representation of an angel rather than the personification of the Zodiac symbol. Taking advantage of the Expert Editing rules one very simple way to accomplish that would to have superimposed/engraved the letter symbol for Virgo on the stone pedestal she stands upon.
There are, of course, more photo-manip ways to present the statue as Virgo but that would mean removing all the indoor museum background to place her into a setting that would carry the idea that she is Virgo. |
