:-) Oh, now that is just the wrong way to prepare scrambled eggs...unless you want a little crunch to go with your morning meal:-) Great lighting and detail on this photo composition.

:-) :-) Well yes, if this is Earth, the purple and green are quite wrong. Garish hues for a sunset by Earthern standards. But this is not Earth. It is the fabulous discovery of Bodu that circles the lost moon of Poosh:-) The purple and green sunsets are quite lovely this time of year:-)

One person's snazzy is another's 'clash-y'. LOL, now that is just horrible framing. Bright bold colors just totally overwhelm the B&W composition both in hue and size:-)

Great picture of these big horn sheep/rams. The lighting is a bit harsh such that I wish there was more contrasts on the darker tones (they are a bit washed out when I know that they could be 'richer'). Still there is a lot of details. And try, try as I might I just don't see how this makes a connection to "You Are Doing It Wrong". I do have one idea but I am definitely not sure it that is what you were getting at. Maybe the big horn sheep at that is higher than the rest is supposed to be the "All Wise Guru" typically pictured up at the top of the mountain. Typically there is a person who has scaled all the way to the top only to receive an answer that is more mystifying than the question. Maybe that is the 'Consultation' going on...or maybe not given that it is not occurring at the tip of the mountain. Guess I will wait till after rollover to see the meaning.

Cue music: "We're on a road to nowhere..." :-) Yup, definitely a wrong way to ride a bike. Probably still good excercise because your legs do double duty pedaling and holding the bike in place...and your arms are lifting weights too (unless that is a titanium bike which weighs nearly nothing;-) ) Lighting and composition are good. My only critique is that I wish the 'road' was wider such that we could then see the road right off onto the vanishing point. It would also act as composition point to highlight the 'actor' on the 'stage'.

????? - A bit surprised to see this down here. I would have thought it would have been higher. I loved the humor and gave it a 7. These two pumpkins made me think of Waldorf and Statler (the two hecklers in the balcony in the Muppets)

What Lurks in the Shadows...

Finally had some time to sit - saw the thread earlier coming back to comment now. Congrats on a top twenty finish and new PB! Pretty soon you will be hitting the six's:-) I wanted to comment that your processing from the original in the forum thread was well done. The shadows and highlights and processing really play up the threatening feel from that glaring look. I do have two suggestions that might help make the composition even stronger. Before applying the processing you could try making your lips a blood red color and then see what it looks like when you apply all your processing. I think it could look more menacing if she appears that she has blood on the lips making it seem that she is staring at us because we are her next prey. The other suggestion is a small one that has to do with crop. I think that there is just a wee bit too much empty space on the left side. I think cropping off 1/6 off on the left would leave enough 'shadows' for the main subject to emerge from while keeping the focus strongly on the main subject.

Grats on your ribbon!:-) The concept of mixing the macabre with a 'renaissance feast' is a good one. I am going to echo the sentiment that I wish the backdrop was not outdoors for the trees make the scene way too busy IMHO. The dining room table conjures more of an indoor feast akin to medieval or renaissance feasts (the roast pig is what makes me think that) that one sees in paintings or old book prints. Actually, the more I think upon this the more the revelers and feast would look really good if placed in a medieval/renaissance stone wall hall.

I love the textures and 'faded' color of this shot for it makes me think it might be a vision of memory - hazy in recall. Or even an old shot that has worn and faded over time. I can barely see the 'ghosts'. Given the theme was spooky or Halloween I think that this composition would benefit greatly if you made the spectors more visible but bumping up the opacity on the ghost layer just a bit more - just enough so they are seen better but not so much that they lose the 'see through' quality.
