Indian Diwaliby PERCOMComment: Looks too contrasty or over sharpened or something. FIreworks are not easy to shoot. |

Chinese Lanternsby Kaze_srComment: Over exposed with lots of blown highlights. Might try shooting earlier in the day- say shortly after the sun goes down so that there is still some light in the sky to get you a better light balance. Great location! I would like to see some more from here. Composision is good. |

Washing Grapesby Nikolai1024Comment: Well lit and captured. I am wondering why the grape is being dropped into a glass of water other than to see what it looks like. Might try an olive in a martini glass with a solid background behind it. Try a piece of white or black cardboard behind it. This looks like you were experiementing in your kitchen. It works- just need refined a bit! |

Apexby PresidenteComment: Nice low angle for the shot but I do not care for the cropping on the car. Perhaps leaving more on both sides of the picture would have helped. |

CATCH THE BUBBLES.by CONRADComment: The bubbles are great but the background is very distracting. Maybe you should have tried shooting from a different angle- perhaps from below? |

Speeding Past the Shuttersby secondglantzComment: A perfectly timed shot! It is interesting that the windows he is passing are shut while the third at least has the shutters open. I would guess he is an acrobat. Rule one of a great photo- choose your background and you chose well. I would venture to guess that it is cropped but not a lot from the original. Lighting and timing are spot on as well! |

Wine and Candlesby thenettiepComment: A difficult one. It sounds like you went to a lot of effort to set up your shot and you got an interesting result. Is it the worst picture here? Definately not. People expect clear, sharp pictures. YOu have a great range of nice soft tones and the red color gives it a focal point. I think it would stand better as a part of a set of images than it does by itself. If you want the abstract, maybe just include a better hint of what the subject is. Even just the bottom edge of something. You will get a lot of negative "blury out of focus" comments on a picture like this, but decide yourself if they are valid or not. To score high here, you need a clear, coloful shot that tells the story in one easy to decipher image. They don't like ones that make them think or examine it more closely, although these are usually the more interesting sorts of pictures. The other ones if you saw them in a magazine or newspaper you would go "nice picture" and turn the page. Pictures like yours require more effort on the viewer's part. |
