IMG_6111-Molcajete.jpgby TheresaAComment: What a cool ordinary object; my wife just started making fresh salsa (no pasty/saucy junk, just fresh tomatos), and I bet she'd love something like this to do it in. The shot is really nice, with nice contrast between the colors and the dark tones in the bowel. Nicely shot. |

Day 3 Secateursby ChinarosepetalComment: You have such a great eye for lighting and composition; your images are delightful to look at. I don't mind the girlie secateurs; are the plants fooled as you approach them? "Hm, look at those pretty things she's carrying, look really nice, they do." SNIP! |

Day 2 - trashby dreamyComment: So wonderfully chaotic, and you've chosen a nice slice to show us. I never would have looked at this (if I wasn't out shooting, that is), so it's nice to have it captured for me to study a bit. Well shot. |

3. Early morning clotheslineby suemackComment: Delightful composition and wonderful use of sky and color to bring it to life. I'm not hugely fond of silhouetted images, but here, especially with the wings a bit transparent, it works well. Nicely composed, too. |

Toenail Eating Dragonby trevytrevComment: Delightful, really. Perfectly conceived and executed. I've never looked at toenail clippers in quite this way before. Nicely done. |

Day 2 Take 2 - Point Shoesby runericComment: Agree this is improved; wish I'd seen it before I posted my comments on the other one (which sort of make it look like I did see it first -- oops!!). Nicely done, and excellent use of the comments to improve an image. Just what side challenges are for! |

Day 2 - Lock Springing Through The Darknessby photokariangelComment: Excellent use of processing to bring this out; I'm guessing you didn't convert to B&W (you didn't mention it in your processing), but that that's the natural appearance of the silver lock on the dark background. Nicely done, the silver is good and silvery, and the highlights make this really interesting. I agree a slightly different crop might suit this better (did you try a rule of thirds grid? I always run one over my photos these days, just to see what I get and whether I like it). |

Day 2 - Daughter's Point Shoesby runericComment: I think part of why people are thinking vertical is the centered composition; for me, moving the subject here right (so that the lace is still on the left trailing into the center) might work just as well as a vertical crop. Lighting is really nice, and the subtlety here is perfect. Excellent shot. |

Keys Day 2.jpgby ssodellComment: Keys in the door; going in, or going out? Locking, or unlocking? Letting someone in, or keeping someone out? I like it! |

Mixed-Nuts.jpgby PixelKingComment: I like everything about this except the centered composition with the normal perspective to the image; I don't mind it centered, but then I think I would prefer a square crop. The black bands at the side just don't do anything for me. That said, as everyone else has said, colors and the interaction of the dish with the nuts is wonderful; a really nice shot! |
