Something about this image just called to me from the first time I saw it; I thought at first it was under water, but the shades and clarity undermine that; in any event, I love the choice of objects here, and the use of the lighting to highlight them and draw in the viewer's attention, with lots to see here. Excellent image.

Each time I see this, I bumped it up another point. I thought I was done, but when I came back to write a comment, here I am, bumping it up again. At least now I can't bump it any more ;) I like this, though, for the wonderful feeling it evokes from effective use of the painted light technique. It feels clean and fresh. Wonderful.

This is one of the few "bright light" images that ranked at the top for me; the use of the sparks to backlight the kettle, but also including them coming out of the spout, was perfect. Lighting and composition appropriate to the subject, this is one of my top picks of the challenge.
