| 10/17/2007 01:45:56 PM | On the Prowlby JedusiComment: The dark eyes, the sharp teeth, that's all that's really here, and just that, and it fits; just the spirit of the beast. The rest of it as it is often perceived, if perception is the right word, the fur, the tale, even the body, are whisps here, insubstantial and unsubstantiated, merely memories of our limited vision. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 10/16/2007 11:21:15 AM | Valletta wall aby raishComment: It's excellent; if I tip my screen (I only have a laptop; I know, sacrilege, but still), it changes. One way, there is more detail, but tons more noise; tipped another, and almost all the detail and light is gone except for the bright spot on the wall straight back, with soft light emanating from around it and light shadows of the people there . . . I could play this game all day :)
One quick question: did you rotate this? If you did, there's a slice of light left in the upper left and two slices in the lower right, both inside the border (I tried to see whether they somehow "fit," but if they do, I couldn't see it).
Wonderful. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 10/15/2007 05:51:39 AM | Splash of Fallby arron_christensenComment: This so captures the start of autumn, as the leaves start to change, but the rest of the world still looks summery. Nice. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 10/15/2007 05:50:58 AM | Amongst the Starsby KarenNfldComment: Well seen and captured, I love the one green star so strongly in focus in the upper right as a balance to the generally downward flow provided by the soft focus stars; the papery appearance of the white leaves is great. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 10/15/2007 03:05:32 AM | Seekers at the Clambakeby Bear_MusicComment: So many perfect elements here, the flashes of light and color, the naturally monotone-ish areas in the lower center/left, the off-kilter horizon, the people "appearing" out of the steam, and all of it fading so perfectly into that patch of blue and cloud at the top-left. Congrats on a great finish for a great shot, I wouldn't change a thing. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 10/15/2007 02:37:40 AM | Coca Colaby BAMartinComment: I keep thinking that that bird is looking at you for help in getting his money back, as the stupid machine has eaten his quarters and not given him a coke! There are some wonderful elements to this that really make me smile. The tilt of the shot (OMG, it's not level, DNMC DNMC!!!) adds a dimension of oddity that fits with a peacock (or some other such bird)in front of a coke machine beautifully. The processing, for me, is a bit heavy as you reach the bottom, but parts of that I also really like, such as how grungy and dirty the floor looks; to achieve this but keep a bit more detail in the tail would be my preference, but I don't know if it's doable, and "cleaning up" the floor might "ruin" the shot to my eye. I love the papery, delicate feeling the processing gives the machine, and one thing that caught my eye was the almost crystal clear "thank you" near the coin slot. For the "story" or reaction I had to this, that clearness works really well in an ironic (or more likely quasi-ironic) sort of way. Neat shot, right place, right time. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 10/14/2007 05:03:01 PM | Flowers for Lillie Mae, Foreverby elemessComment: Perfect capture, just enough detail to bring the point across, but not bash the viewer in the face with it. Perfect, really. Nothing more to say. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 10/14/2007 05:00:53 PM | Morning Dewby DejaComment: I like the extreme sharpness on the top petal, with the lower petal a bit (but just a bit) softer in both light and focus; great flow here, too. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 10/14/2007 04:56:57 PM | Hanging out in suburbia.by HollywoodHoebagComment: Heh, with the title, this made me smile (thanks). They really do hang out in suburbia, don't they? Watching the kids head off to the mall; I love the car in the back, it's needed for context. Excellent. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
