End of Hibernationby Faye PekasComment: Interesting perspective and I like the flat soft grey as the backdrop. Just wish the far-out tortoise was more in focus instead of the branch blocking it. |

Tokyo International Forumby RikkiComment: Great shot with all that interplay of lines, curves and the shadows on the left. And it has nicer b&w tones than your other one. Bet it'll look great blown up! Could be me but it just looks a very wee bit tilted to the left. |

In Transient Passageby elee3009Comment: Thank you to all who left comments. Appreciate that in such a heavily dense challenge, you took the time all the same.
To respond to those who commented on the technical aspects of this image like the overblown lighting and focus, you are completely right of course if my intention was to take a nice poster shot or classically beautiful photograph. Well, to the detriment of my score, that wasn't my intention. I took this shot when I stumbled upon this passage way while in Paris. The city is well-known for its numerous passages and I'd never been to this one. So, I snapped a few and liked this particular one where I could pushed to make it look even more blown out because it conveyed a sense of passing through without really registering something or someone concretely - a feeling of really being in transient passage. In Paris, this is all the more the impression I get today as people hurry along in their own little world and in their own circles, not needing to stop, look, share or exchange because they feel like they're just passing through before going back to their own comfortable little worlds.
Don't know if that makes sense but I'm experimenting. So glad some of you did like it. :) |
