Composition=content
Composition is lovely here, perhaps a little too much like Shiizzams recent win, but works well. You have made a good statement here, but it could be taken as too general to really fit the topic of despair.
Technical
Focus appears to be on the material, adding a bit of softness to the eye area, perhaps this could be sharper. I think that the flash is a bit too bright for this kind of shot, perhaps some soft side lighting would have been good, lighting up the eye area, but de-emphasising the material.
My Opinion
I like the shot, it has a meassge and does make people think. The composition is great. |

Composition-Content
Great idea, but I think that you probably lost a lot of people with the meaning of it, one of those times when seeing the photographers comments at the time of voting would have helped! Perhaps a different angle of the sign would have added more interest.
Technical
The true colour of snow has come out well here, nice and clean! Lighting is a little dark, perhaps a different time of day would have been good, or even B/W and then more contrast would have provided a stonger impact.
My Opinion
Great idea and after reading your comments, I can see how this fits the challenge, just needs to be a little more obvious for this site! Good Luck in the next challenge. |

Composition-content
The angle of the shot fits the angle that she is looking, providing space from her eyes into the empty space. Also leaves room for text which is an added benefit for stock. I think that the composition is pretty interesting, I am sure that many people would think that you should have cropped off the pole, but I think composition wise it would have been pretty uninteresting without it.
Technical
Sharpening looks too strong here, resulting in jagged lines. Either that, or in the resizing.
My opinion
I like the composition and choice of B/W, interesting perspective. I think that pictures of pictures don't usually score too highly. Probably would have done much better without the compression/sharpening issues. Intreresting shot! | Photographer found comment helpful. |
